Genena Armstrong is a dynamic, ICF-certified Executive and Leadership Coach, Culture Consultant, and #1 Amazon Best-Selling Author with over 25 years of experience in Human Resources, Talent Management, and Diversity & Inclusion. Known for her engaging and energetic coaching style, Genena creates a safe, empowering space for executives and high-potential leaders to grow, navigate career transitions, and strengthen their leadership presence.

She currently serves as an Executive Coach with Building Champions and a Facilitator Guide for CHIEF, where she supports C-suite executives and senior leaders across industries. Her prior experience includes executive leadership roles with Fortune 500 companies and consulting for organizations such as Alkami Technology, Caliber Home Loans, and Zigatta. She also has a specialization in women's leadership. Throughout her career, Genena has held pivotal HR and diversity roles, including Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion at Wells Fargo, Director of Diversity at CHRISTUS Health and CoreLogic, and Executive Recruiter for Target/Marshall Field’s. Her industry expertise spans banking, healthcare, retail, technology, and mortgage.

Genena holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Management with a focus in Human Resources from Illinois State University and a Master's degree in Women's Leadership from Mississippi University for Women. She is certified as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) by the International Coaching Federation. She holds additional certifications in DISC, Emotional Intelligence, Diversity Management in Healthcare, and the Leadership Circle Profile. 

Her coaching philosophy centers on partnership, transformation, and accountability—helping clients break through barriers, build emotional intelligence, and lead with confidence. She is passionate about executive presence, work/life boundaries, communication, and career strategy. She specializes in 1-1 coaching, group coaching, and moderating and speaking on leadership panels.

Outside of work, Genena serves on the Board for Alumni Engagement with her alma mater, Illinois State University, and is a graduate of Leadership McKinney Class of 2018. She volunteers with Genesis Women’s Shelter and values time with her husband and three adult children. She resides in Frisco, Texas, and prioritizes connection and traveling the world with family, friends, and community.
