Julie Bensignor

Vice President of Human Resources, Global Research & Early Development

Julie Bensignor is the Vice President of Human Resources, Global Research & Early Development at Bristol Myers Squibb.

Julie has over 20 years of experience working at C-Suite level across multiple geographies, with extensive expertise in talent management, learning and development, organizational design and change management. She has been recognized for driving organizational transformation through innovative HR practices with entrepreneurial and strategic approach to human capital decisions and solutions.

She has a passion for building inclusive and engaging cultures and has been the lead architect in leading the change management efforts at the enterprise level to accelerate Bristol Myer Squibb’s integration with Celgene in 2019.

In her previous role with BMS as VP HR U.S. Commercial and Global Commercialization Capabilities, Julie owned the people strategy for a highly complex and dynamic $29 billion business with over 3,000 employees based in the US and worldwide, in a highly regulated environment. She is driving organization performance, talent development, with a focus on inclusive culture, workforce engagement and diversity.

Before she moved to the US, Julie led the BMS’ HR organization in France where she led a significant transformation across two businesses, redefined the social agenda, launched innovative employee engagement and culture change initiatives including a comprehensive corporate social responsibility strategy and plan.

Prior to joining BMS in 2012, Julie was Vice President Human Relations at Mylan for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). She was accountable for designing and leading a newly restructured HR function and as a business partner to the EMEA president, she played a critical role in leading a business transformation.

Before that, Julie spent 11 years at GE Healthcare where she drove executive talent identification, development and succession planning and held various human resources business partner roles with increasing responsibilities. In addition, she led the design and execution of new HR services capabilities, establishing shared service centers and integrating people, processes and technology leading to new ways of working and enhanced employee experience. During her tenure with GE, Julie also developed extensive M&A and integration experience and lived in Germany for two years.

Julie holds a BA in Business Administration, a Master Degree in Management and a Master Degree in Human Resources from Bordeaux University, France.

Julie lives in Princeton, NJ, she has two children, a passion for arts and culture and works for her father, Ben, who lost his battle to melanoma at the age of 57.
